At Healthy Bites With Kara, we are driven by the alarming rates of childhood obesity in the United States. With nearly 1 in 5 children—about 14.7 million—struggling with obesity, the urgency to take action is clear. The statistics are even more concerning among certain groups, with 26.2% of Hispanic children and 24.8% of non-Hispanic Black children affected. Moreover, children from low-income families are twice as likely to be obese, with a prevalence rate of 25.8% compared to 11.9% in higher-income households.

 Healthy Bites with Kara is dedicated to inspiring and educating children to make healthy eating choices as a vital step in combating childhood obesity.
